The Dragons Apprentice ( Chapter 6 )

I open my eyes and see the ceiling in front of my eyes. My fan was going, so It was cold in my room. The light was off in my room, my windows were open as well. I sat up in bed and saw the sheets were over me. I was confused who had done this, my door opened and Levie was smiling. I smile back and slowly get out of bed. My head hurt a bit, but I knew it was just from sleeping all the time. I put my slippers on my feet and walked downstairs with Levie.

" So, how was your sleep?" He asked
" It was okay, but I thought I was hugging my family a couple of minutes ago." I hopefully answered.
" Oh, you were. You just fainted a bit because you were so happy. But you look fine now." Levie explained

We entered the living room and saw my family looking at us. My Granny was so happy for me, when I told her I wasn't her grandchild, she knew it was true. That I was the king's daughter. I guess it was just faith that this family saved me from his horrible parenting. But I still miss my real father every minute I'm not with him, that sounds bad doesn't it.
I sat down next to my mother and but my head on her right shoulder. That morning I didn't want to do a thing, I just wanted to think. But the only thing a thought about was my father, he was all alone in his kingdom without mother to take good care of him. My father put the news on from our radio and we listened in very quietly.

" Today we will be talking more about the bombing in the central kingdom, Dragonheir. Also more about the towns people beating others up for food in Rightsworth. But lastly, the Dragon Prince has a new mistress following him, who might she be; today on DragonNews." He announced and the radio went off

I looked at Levie in a confused way. He looked even more confused then I did at the time.

" Sorry Sky, lets just say father wants me to ask you to marry me. But I want to train you first, meaning I want you to learn more about dragons, and maybe even transform into one." He smiled at me
" Its okay Levie, and sure I would love to train with you." I laugh
" But if I asked would you marry me?" He asked
" I'm not sure, I still have a long way to go." I blush
" Lets see about that, because the mother has to approve as well." Mother commented
" Sure thing." Levie laughed

I look down at my feet that were going back and forth, I think what if I do marry him. My mind was thinking about everything, even my future life with someone. I put him next to me in my mind and began to think of us being together. I couldn't picture it, I couldn't see Levie and me getting married. I sat up from my mothers shoulder and went into the kitchen, where my father was making is famous bacon and eggs. I hug him from behind and surprise him.

" Baby, whats the matter." He whispers
" Levie asked if he actually asked me to marry him if I would say yes. But what if I do, whats going to happen to you guys." I start to cry
" We will visit the both of you every weekend." He smiled
" Thanks dad." I respond and place my head on his chest

I let go and help him with the breakfast. I was really good at making the eggs, while dad was making his bacon. I made scrambled eggs since that was the first thing I ever ate when I was young, I placed them in a pan and let them cool down. I took out five plates and placed them on the dining table, Levie was eyeing me as worked. I placed forks around the plates and napkins. Father brought in the bacon and set it down.

" Okay everyone, breakfast is served." Father and I announced

Everyone came to the table and sat silently. We said a pray and began to eat, I was smiling ear to ear. This was a family breakfast like no other, It was a long time since we had one like this. I was actually happy with them, and I should since they are my family.

The Dragons Apprentice ( Chapter 5 )

I look out the window by the entrance to the castle, I saw how happy everyone was. I smiled and couldn't help but cry, I wanted to stay with my family now, but I want to stay with my father as well. I couldn't decide on my own. I walked around town with my head down to the ground and was thinking. I had to think, or my father would not like me anymore, then something came to me. I ran back to his throne and rested for a bit.

" Father?" I questioned
" yes" He smiled and appeared on his throne
" I want to live with my family now, Leviathan can
Leviathan in his dragon form.
also live with me, and we can fly over here whenever you want," I explain.

" Now that's a smart reply my dear child." He laughs
" So can I?" I ask
" Yes, you may. Now come here." He said opening his arms up to me.

I walk into his arms and wrap my arms around his neck. He whispered something to me but couldn't hear him. I just nodded and let go of him. He smiled and winked at me, I didn't even look like him, how can he be my father, maybe I just loo like my real mother. I went out to the gate to see Levie in his dragon form. He was a beautiful blue dragon, it looked like he was smiling at me, I had to smile back. I jump on his back and hold on to his horns, he roared and flew off. I smile as we get into the air and away of his kingdom.

' Are you okay with this." I ask
' Sky, I love you too much to leave you alone.' He replied
" Levie. . . . ." I spoke

I smile and put my head on his head, I fell asleep for the time being.

4 hours later. . . . .

I open my eyes to see a blue head, I sit up and look around me. There were clouds everywhere I looked. I laughed and looked down at Levie who was smiling.

' Your up, nice to see your not dead.' He laughed
" Shut up." I shout at the top of my lungs
' Were almost there, just a little ways to go now.'
" Thank you, Levie." I smile and stretch my arms out.

Levie flew below the clouds and I could see my father in the field, mother hanging up the laundry, and Grannie in her rocking chair. I yell at them and Levie roars. They stop what their doing and wave back. Levie lands and I run to my mother who was smiling the whole time, Grannie got up and slapped Levie on the nose. Father laughed and hugged Levie. He turned back into his human form and told them what was going on, Grannie was also in love with that idea. I then told them what I went through, father said sorry that they never told me sooner. I couldn't help but smile, they all gave me a group hug and smiled with me. I couldn't believe I was finally home again.

The Dragons Apprentice ( Chapter 4 )

I open my eyes to see a mountain in front of me. I rub my eyes to see if I was dreaming but I wasn't. I look down at my legs to see that I was riding a blue-ish green dragon. Its wings spread out twice the size of my body. I smile and hear it roar multiple times.

' Your up,' Levie thought
" Ya, don't worry. I wouldn't just die," I laugh.
' Very funny Sky,' He roared and I could see him smile.

I looked below us and saw a forest, I remember these forests like the back of my hand. This was the place I was lost before Father found me. If you're thinking what I think your thinking, then yes I was adopted by the family I'm with now. Father was nice enough to bring me along with him back home, he told me he wanted a daughter, so I followed him from that day on. I follow Levie's eyes to see him looking at Imperial Guards, we were close to the city. Levie roared and I saw the soldiers look at him in awe, they looked more scared than worried. But it also looked like they were smiling and waving at us, what strange people.
We came up to the city and landed right by the gate. Levie transformed back into his human form and took my hand. I blushed and followed him to the guards at the gate.

" Master Laviathan! Your home." One of them yelled
' Master!' I thought
" Let him through." The other yelled as the gate was opened

I kept quiet and followed him into the city. Until I couldn't keep it in.

" Why did they call you Master?" I asked him
" I'm sry I couldn't tell you but my father told me about you. You're a dragon whisperer and I can turn into a dragon, so that makes me a half-blood. Or does it, but anyway this is my real form Sky. I'm the Prince hear."
" Oh, Prince Levie," I questioned.
" Ya, that's me," He laughed and kissed my forehead.

The King
I was shocked he did that, especially as the Prince. We walked up some stairs and saw a huge door, Levie looked at the guards and they just opened it. We walked in and saw a huge thrown room. A man with a crown on was sitting in the chair, he was smiling.

" My boy, who have you brought this time." He laughed
" Father, this is Sky. The girl I told you about." Levie answered
" Well, she's quite lovely. Can she hear your thoughts." He asked
" Perfectly fine, your highness," I answered for him.
" Well then, a very bold one too." He laughed  " Come here my child."

I let go of Levie's hand and walked up to the chair. The king was smiling at me, he took my hand and hugged me. I was shocked because king's weren't allowed to hug his subjects. He didn't even look like Levie. He has blond hair, brown eyes, he doesn't even look like a King. He's also wearing a butler outfit, why?
He let go and smiled at me. His gentle appearance was calming to me, then out of nowhere I started to cry.

" Father?" I questioned as tears fell down my face
" Yes Sky, its been a while my little chika." He said and hugged me once more.
" I can't believe it, why did I leave you all along." The tears were falling down my cheeks faster this time.
" It was for your own good my love. I didn't want to lose you like I lost your mother." He replied  " I adopted Levie, he is a dragon and a human. Like he told you, a half-blood. Dragons can only turn into humans, they don't even show emotion. But Levie showed love to you, didn't he?"
" I wish I knew better," I say and blush
" I'm glad your home pumpkin." He whispered into my ear as he wiped the tears from my face, then just disappeared.

My whole life I thought my real Father was my Father on the farm. I guess it was for my own good, what am I going to tell Granny that I'm not her grandchild. As I'm thinking to myself I feel two arms around my stomach, Levie had wrapped his arms around me. I turn around to look at him and hugged him properly, or what I thought was right. He laughs and puts his chin on my head.

" Hey Sky" He started
" Ya."
" Can you help me with this thing. Even though I'm still the Prince here, I want to stay with you forever. And Father wants you back."
" Levie. . . I'm not sure anymore. I want to stay with you and Father, but I want to go back with my other family that I know better." I answer
" Fine with me, Father said you can bring them here. They can stay here with us."
" No, they love their little farm. I love it too." I say and let go of him.

I turned around and thought to myself.

' What happened to my normal life.' I thought

The Dragons Apprentice ( Chapter 3 )

I opened the door of the house and turned to look into our living room. Levie was sitting by the fire, Granny was sitting in her rocking chair and Mother and Father were sitting on the couch. I smile and sit next to Levie who laughs at my Granny's remark.
This is my dad, he's part of a magic council.

" Shes a keeper, I'm telling ya." Granny spat out

" Wow Granny, don't just go marrying me off to hot guys I don't know." I respond to her.
" I'm hot to you?" Levie questioned and smiled at me.
" Uh, yes. . . . but. . . I don't know any more" I mutter.
" Embarrassing the little princess," Father laughed.
" Stop it," I yell as tears run down my face.

Levie looks at me and is confused. Granny told him what the tears were from, he smiles and wipes them off my face. I thank him and laugh a bit towards my Granny who is just smiling at me. I stand up and go outside, it was getting dark out already. The afternoon sky was illuminated by the stars. It looks cool here in the afternoon, it's because of our different moons we have. Levie and my Granny came out with me, Granny loves watching the night sky.

I get three chairs we made and sat on them. Granny closed her eyes and went to sleep. Levie pointed at many stars I had no idea about.

" That one makes Leo the Lion." He remarks

" Cool, you know a lot about stars," I comment.
" Thanks, my father told me about them, and which one to follow." He laughed
" How is that funny," I question
" I have forgotten which star that is." he smiles at me.
" Oh, but isn't like somewhere in your brain. You have to know which one it is." I reply
" It is, I know what it looks like, just my father never told me the name of it. Since if you say it, it will curse you forever. And yesterday was the first time I would be following it, I just saw you instead." He answered

I look up back at the sky, I saw our three moons. They are all different sizes, our moon we had before all of this happened was destroyed by a comet in space. So the dragons helped and got us three more, I learned that the bigger they are the less time they have to stay near our planet. I hope I can see when dragons help to get more moons for us.

I sigh off to the side and close my eyes for a minute. I could feel Levies' head on my shoulder, I look over and he had fallen asleep. I laugh and look at his face, it was very handsome when he slept.

' Am I in love with him, because I feel this pain in my chest that feels like love." I question my thought.

We call them Dragon Wolves because of their
wings and bad taste with humans, just like
dragons.
I let him sleep there and just look around at the field we were sitting in. I see our horse eat some grass, the sheep were being herded by Lily, our chickens were just near the house. Our cow was near Jewels, their like best friends I tell ya. I laugh and see our lamps turn on around the field, and down our driveway or pathway. I smile and turn the lamp on near me, I loved the dark but tonight we were looking out for wolves. We have some crazy wolves over here since they changed and they look way different than before. I just wish I could see one, Granny said they are nicer to dragons than humans, but since I smell like one they would like me.

" Yes, I got it," I yelled then covered my mouth out of shock.
" What. . . Is it," Levie asked, still tired and rubbing his eyes open.
" Oh, just had an idea. You don't need to worry if that's what you thought you needed to do." I say and stretch my arms out
" Whats the idea Sky." He asked
" I want to see a wolf. A crazy idea I know. . . ." I was paused by wind being thrown in my face if that's even possible.

I look at were Levie was sitting, but he wasn't there. In his place was a dragon flying in place. I smile and watch him land next to me. He roars soft so I could only hear and makes me jump on.

" Are we actually doing this," I yell over the wind.
' Yes, we are.' I hear Levie's voice in my head.

We got high enough to see the house, he was ready to go. I hold onto his main or hair, as tight as possible and watch as my house became smaller and smaller as we moved. I looked around us and saw the beautiful wings he had to fly, they were a silver-ish blue. I look at the scenery under us and see manny fields and mountains. I couldn't believe he would do this for me, I guess its to repay the favor of letting him stay in my home.

' I love this dragon.' I thought and screamed out my heart at the clouds in the sky.
' Ya, thank's Sky. I love this girl I met.' Levie screams.
" Levie. . . . ." I was speechless

I tighten my grip on his hair and close my eyes for the long ride ahead of us. I think about what will happen once we get there, hopefully something good.

The Dragons Apprentice ( Chapter 2 )

It was morning, sunshine was coming through my window in my room. Levie had left already and made his side of the bed. I laugh a bit and smell the beautiful smell of Granny's special soup and toast. I get out of bed and stretch my legs and arms like I couldn't sleep that night. I put some socks on and head to the kitchen. I walk in to see Levie helping Granny with breakfast.
This is my Grandma, Granny.  ( I know, she looks young.)

" Sit down dear, Levie and I are almost done with breakfast." Granny smiles
" Sure thing Granny." I responded perfectly

We had a small dining table, only set for four. Levie placed the pot onto the dining table and brought another chair to the table. Mother, Father, and Granny finally sat down. We held hands and said a prayer, like always, we finished and began to eat. Levie was confused at how to eat the soup with, I laugh and hand him a spoon. He thanks me and eats his soup. I finish first and clean my plate in our sink.
We lived on a small modern farm, but less modern. When I say modern and regular farmhouse, but we did build my room for me. The other rooms we renovated or fixed for our needs. I helped when I was a little one, which was fun.
Levie took the others plates and cleaned them for me, which was helpful to me since I hate doing the dishes. I watch him clean the dishes with the cloth and soap, he wasn't sure on how to use them. I grab them from his hand and show him, he laughs and rubs through my hair. I step back and blush.

' Why did he do that.' I thought

I look back at him and see his expression has changed to a sad look. I pat his head and said sorry for backing up like that, he laughs and forgives me. I smile and run up to my room, which I had to clean today. Levie followed me in, he helped me clean it. I fixed my bed and placed the other pillows in my closet. I sit on my bed and start to read my favorite book of them all, Levie sits next to me expecting me to read it out loud.

" Can you read it out loud for me." he said moving my hair from my face so he could see it.
" Sure, my mother would read it to me when I was younger. I love this book." I respond and think of when I was younger.
" Okay, then can you read it." He asked
" Ya." I replied and started to read it.
" ' You know those times when you fall down, then get right back up. That's how hard life is people keep telling me. I have to do my best, but the truth is that you have to be very judgemental. Or you will be judged yourself. I was a normal girl until my mother told me about our family, she told me we were part dragon. What did mom do to make me like this, oh wait, easy answer, she mated with a male dragon; Good job mother, now my life is ruined forever. Well that was half true because when I told people they wanted to be my friend. I was actually accepted in life after my mother told me this, and I was glad she did.' "

This is my mom, she's pretty young and awesome.
I finished the first page and Levie was already sleeping on my shoulder. I laughed a bit and placed him onto my bed. I put my book back and went to look at the clock. Levie grabbed my hand, he opened his eyes and just looked at me. I blush and look back at him. He closes his eyes again and lets go of me. I see his mouth smile at me and fall asleep.
I walk out of my room and down to the kitchen, my mother and grandma had already started weaving, father was harvesting the crops. I ran out side and saw our horse, Jewels, helping him by holding the basket. Father was picking our corn, potatoes, and unions, I went and helped him.

" Thank you Sky, your always a big help around the farm. And I think we need Levie to stay. Mother and Granny love him." Father explained
" Ya, I think I do too." I said looking back at my bedroom window.
" Wow, don't go having crushes on dragons now."
" How did you know. . . . he is a dragon." I say
" His politeness towards us, pretty simple to figure out." Father responded
" Thanks dad, does mother know." I ask
" Don't think so, Granny might though." Father answered and picked up the last union.

Father took the basket off Jewels and put it by the farm house. I put Jewels back into her stable, right next to Bettie, our milking cow. Shes moos at me and licks her lips, what a silly cow she is. I smile and hand her some hay, I do the same with Jewels. We also have a couple sheep, a couple chickens, and a Border Collie. Her name is Lily, mother named her. I pet Lily on the head and go back to father, he had put the food into different basket's. I pick up the two less heavy ones as father picks up the potatoes. I smile and race him back to the house, when we get back its about 9:00 in the morning.
I put the baskets down in the front of the house and see Levie in the living room. I smile and knock on the window, he looks my way and smiles. I smile back and get head slapped.

" What was that for, you idiot." I turn to look at who slapped me and saw Zach just looking at me.
" Why did you let him into your house, your the idiot. They eat us." Zach explained
" I know, but he seems friendly towards us. Espeacially me." I blush and walk back into the house with father.

' Or will he just eat us in the end.' I thought and smiled as I walked in.

Short Story: The Dragons Apprentice ( Chapter 1 )

In the warm spring air of a small village with an ocean view, a small cottage was stirring with commotion. As the wind brings their voices all over the village, more people arrive to hear their tale. In the cottage, a father, mother and their two children are sitting by the fire. Making sure to speak as loud as they can.

" The tale you're about to here, is about our oldest daughter and her life with a dragon." He spoke
" It all starts when she's just a child and is an apprentice to this wonderful creature." Mother continued.

April 16, 1981

This is me, Skylar.
" Hey Sky, they're coming!" A boy yelled from out her window.
" Zach, no one cares about your lies. Get out of here." I tiredly speak.
" Well this time I'm not lying." He responded carefully and opened her window.

I sat up in bed and looked out at him, I laughed and smiled. I jumped out of bed and jumped out my window. In the sky they were flying overhead, their scales and huge wings shined bright in the sunlight. I awed them as they continued past our little village, they did that every year. I wanted to follow them so badly, but that would mean I had to befriend one of those brutal creatures. I couldn't imagine doing such a thing.
I walked out into our field and ran, trying to catch up with them. I roared as they flew by, I could see them turn and look at me. I smiled and jumped in the air, hoping they would see me. So many of them flew by without seeing me, then one of them flew down. I was shocked since none of them went near us, because we were essentially food to them.
It walked over to me and looked just like a human. Well that's what they do to fit in with us, otherwise it's easy to figure who's a dragon or not. It's easy because they don't feel emotion at all, I envy them. I saw his dark blue eyes staring at me with intensity, I look away and smile a bit. I feel a hand on my cheek and look towards the dragon, it was a 20 something-year-old kid. I stared in confusion and saw him laugh.

" What you looking at girl," he demanded.
" How young you are" I questioned
" That's easy, I'm 21 years old like this. But my real age is about 2,000 years old." He laughs again.
" You're a Sky dragon too, that's awesome." I fangirl over him so much.

He looks down at his feet and smile. I can see his face turning pink, and his expression change dramatically. I turn to Zach who had ran off back home, I hate that kid so much.

" The names Skylar, but my guy friend who just left calls me Sky," I say putting out my left hand.
" Beautiful name, my names Leviathan. And nice to meet you."
" Crazy name, I like it." I blush

This is Leviathan.
I look up at the sky to see no more dragons nearby or flying to the sea. I look back at Levie who is just looking at me. I point to the sky and see his expression change, he has forgotten the smell of his kin. I laugh and smile at him.

" Would you like to stay with my family?" I ask
" That would be nice of you, since I only know you." He explained and hugged me out of the blue.  " This is the only time I'm hugging you, so remember that." He whispered into, my ear then released me.

I watch him as he walks back to my house. I race to catch up with him. Walking by his side there is a silence that overcomes us, we don't talk for a while. Once we get back to my house my mother and father had already awoken.

' I'm in big trouble.' I thought

I opened the front door and found myself looking at a shocked family. They were all speechless, I smiled and walked in. Levie walked in behind me and I saw my grandmother fall in love. It was for real in this household.

" Who the hell is that hotty." Granny asked
" His a friend I met, well I met him from Zach." I stuttered
" Whats the kids name." Mother asked
" The names Levie." He answered respectfully

I was shocked he didn't tell them he was a dragon. But I guess that's just in his genes as a none emotional creature. I smile and look at my parents who think I'm crazy to bring a boy into the house. He laughs a bit and smiles. My mother and grandma faint at his smile, that's the power of dragons, crazy. I walked up to my room and was followed by Levie. I took out a sleeping bag and pillow, Levie didn't seem interested to sleep on the floor.

" What the hell, can't you sleep on the floor," I ask.
" I just can't." he laughs and jumps onto my queen sized bed.

I mutter to myself and put pillows in the middle of us. I close my eyes and fall asleep.

' What the hell is wrong with him, everything apparently.' I thought, confusing my brain.  ' Eh, who cares. He's actually really nice to me even though he won't hug me. That's a dragon for you.'

My thoughts stop and I drift off to sleep.
